General Projects

Throughout the years at SD Mines, many projects were completed in groups for many classes:

Thermodynamics: Small Thermoacoustic Engine
- Using parts from home, create and analyze a small thermoacoustic engine
- Syringe, CDs, heat source, etc.

Mechatronics: Automatic White Board Eraser
- Using Arduino, automate the erasing of a whiteboard in class
- Arduino, CAD, 3D Printing, etc.

Mechatronics: Line Following Robot
- Arduino and small light sensors to make a robot follow a line.
- Used 2 sensors to understand how much and how fast to turn as well as which direction.
- Arduino, 3D Printing, etc.

Design for Manufacturing: Ride Wallet
- Design some product to manufacture using the tool at school
- CNC, Laser, Weld, Anodizing, Arduino, 3D Printing, etc.

Product Development and Design: Jumping RC Car
- Do some market research and find a product to build a prototype for
- RC car with pneumatic pistons to help in jump
- Market research, 3D Printing, Arduino, etc.

Many other classes has all analysis based projects where given specific problem statements, use some analysis and come up with possible solutions or changes to a current solution and explain how the change would help.
